COVERAGE OF PVTG HOUSEHOLDS IN ODISHA

Posted On: 23 MAR 2026 2:16PM by PIB Delhi The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey today informed Lok Sabha that in view of the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN), the Ministry of Tribal Affairs through the State Governments/ UT Administration/departments has undertaken habitation level data collection exercise through PM Gati Shakti mobile application to estimate PVTG population figures and infrastructure gaps in order to cover PVTG population residing in villages & habitations under PM JANMAN. Based on the data captured by State Government of Odisha, the number of PVTGs villages / habitations and population is as under: No. of District No. of Blocks No. of Villages No. of PVTG habitations PVTG HHs PVTG Population 14 54 1302 1759 72988 312234 The progress of various interventions including housing, drinking water, mobile connectivity, MMUs and other under PM JANMAN in the State of Odisha is given in Annexure-I . The Ministry has been urging the State Governments and line Ministries the need to achieve saturation of interventions (for eligible PVTG beneficiaries) under the abhiyan.
