Verma paid floral tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram On the occasion of 119 th Birth Anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram on 5 th April, 2026, Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation and Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India organized a Floral Tribute function at Samta Sthal, the Samadhi of Babuji, Delhi Gate, New Delhi, from 7.30 am to 8.00 am and Sarva Dharam prarthana at 6, Krishna Menon Marg, New Delhi at 9.30 A.M Floral Tributes were paid by Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Former Lok Sabha Speaker, Smt. Meira Kumar, Minister of State of Social Justice & Empowerment, Shri B. L. Verma, MP Lok Sabha, Shri Manoj Kumar, Secretary, MSJ&E Shri Sudhansh Pant, Executive Vice President, Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, Smt. Swati Kumar, Member Secretary, Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, Shri Shailendra Kumar, Director, Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, Shri Narendra Vashista, various MPs and other dignitaries along with hundreds of followers of Babuji. Another Programme, The Sarva Dharam prarthana at 6, Krishna Menon Marg, New Delhi at 9.30 A.M. Tributes were paid by the Hon’ble former Lok Sabha Speaker, Smt. Meira Kumar, MP Lok Sabha, Executive Vice President of the Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, Smt. Swati Kumar, Member Secretary of the Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, Shri Shailendra Kumar, Director, Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, Shri Narendra Vashista, various MPs and other dignitaries along with hundreds of followers of Babuji. Babu Jagjivan Ram was a freedom fighter and national leader who fought tirelessly for the upliftment of the downtrodden. He was a Cabinet Minister for 35 years- the longest serving minister handling several key portfolios. He brought about path-breaking reforms. As Food & Agriculture Minister, he is credited with the 'Green Revolution' and as Defence Minister he led India to the historic 1971 war, which saw the birth of Bangladesh.
