Posted On: 01 APR 2026 5:14PM by PIB Delhi A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 4th February 2026 between Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL) and Delhi Traffic Police to establish a collaborative framework for the management and digital integration of 34 pre-paid taxi booths across 21 locations in Delhi. The MoU provides for a clear operational framework wherein: Delhi Traffic Police is responsible for the management and operation of the pre-paid booths, recruitment of booth staff, driver verification, and ensuring passenger safety, including the establishment of a control room mechanism. STCL is responsible for digital integration, financial management including payment of staff salaries, maintenance of booths, and branding/marketing activities. The agreement is aimed at enhancing safety, transparency, commuter convenience, and driver earnings, while modernising the existing prepaid taxi system through digital enablement. Bharat Taxi while continuing to train and engage existing eligible manpower at these booths has hired additional personnel. Recruitment within the cooperative framework is undertaken in accordance with operational requirements and phased expansion of services. Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL) periodically determines the number of personnel engaged, taking into account its approved organizational structure and business needs. As on 23rd March, 2026, the platform engages around 130 personnel in support and operational roles. The cooperative operates on a self-sustaining, no-profit, no-loss basis. Engagement of personnel is undertaken in line with operational requirements, financial prudence, and service delivery needs. Any restructuring or fresh engagement is carried out by the cooperative society, from time to time, with a view to improving operational efficiency, ensuring sustainability of services, and responding to evolving demand conditions, in accordance with applicable norms and procedures. This information was given by Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Shri Amit Shah in a written reply in Rajya Sabha. ***** AK/AP (Release ID: 2247844) Visitor Counter : 701 Read this release in: Urdu , हिन्दी Ministry of Cooperation MoU BETWEEN SAHAKAR TAXI AND DELHI POLICE Posted On: 01 APR 2026 5:14PM by PIB Delhi A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 4th February 2026 between Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL) and Delhi Traffic Police to establish a collaborative framework for the management and digital integration of 34 pre-paid taxi booths across 21 locations in Delhi.
