A governance-and-institutions week. The single biggest signal was the Centre arming itself with new statutory machinery: the National Sports Board and National Sports Tribunal Rules notified under the 2025 Act, the High-Level Committee on Demographic Change under Justice Navlekar, and the SARTHAK-PDS umbrella scheme cleared by CCEA. The West Asia supply-chain response also recurred quietly all week (fuel, fertiliser, LPG, evacuations). On the data front, IIP rebased to 2022-23 (launches 1 June), NFHS-6, NHA 2022-23 and the Third Advance Estimates landed together, with India overtaking China as the world's largest rice producer.
