This week, in story-arcs

16–22 March 2026

PIB published 535 releases this week · we curated 44 into 44 arcs.
Editor's note — Aditya Tiwari Sir

Two stories ran the length of this week. The Strait of Hormuz closure put the whole government on a war footing for energy and supply security — a daily inter-ministerial briefing every single day, the RELIEF export-cover scheme, commercial LPG rationed and then restored to 50%, and the arc closing on 22 March with the PM chairing a Cabinet Committee on Security review. Track it as one running crisis, not seven bulletins. The second spine is water: Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, Cabinet-approved on 10 March, signed reform-linked MoUs with nine states across 17–20 March and had its Operational Guidelines released on World Water Day, 22 March — a clean founding-to-rollout arc. Watch the Bharat Electricity Summit (18–22 March) for the two strategic reports it dropped, and the rare-earth-magnet push that surfaced twice in two days. Two quiet recurrers a daily-only reader would have missed: the cooperative-sector items (Bharat Taxi plus the NSO cooperatives survey) and the fisheries EEZ rules — don't skip them. The examiner rewards the candidate who can connect Monday's announcement to Sunday's follow-through.
