Oil marketing companies ran nationwide testing across the E20 supply chain after reports of chloride and moisture contamination, and report chloride at 0–3 ppm against claims of several hundred — with four isolated outlets suspended.
What happened
- OMCs conducted nationwide intensive testing across the E20 supply chain after contamination reports.
- Over 100 refinery petrol samples showed chloride at or below 1 ppm.
- Ethanol from 80 distilleries checked over ten days was all below 3 ppm.
- Retail outlet reports show 0–3 ppm, against claims of several hundred ppm.
- Four isolated outlets with elevated chloride were suspended immediately.
