What happened
- Jal Jeevan Mission (since August 2019) has lifted rural tap coverage from 16.71% to 82.09%.
- About 15.89 crore rural households now have functional tap connections.
- It provides 55 litres per capita per day of BIS:10500-quality water.
- The Mission is extended; schemes are being handed to Gram Panchayats/user groups for O&M.
