The Navy's sail training ship INS Sudarshini departed Boston on its Lokayan-26 voyage, having represented India at the SAIL 250 celebrations and the International Naval Review 250 across the US east coast — a mix of maritime diplomacy, diaspora outreach and soft power.
What happened
- INS Sudarshini, the Navy's sail training ship, departed Boston on 25 July on Lokayan-26.
- It represented India at SAIL 250 and the International Naval Review 250 (US 250th anniversary).
- It called at Norfolk, Baltimore, New York and Boston.
- It hosted dignitaries, the Indian diaspora and international naval delegations.
- It has now set course for Ponta Delgada, Azores (Portugal).
