India and Israel concluded the second round of negotiations for a proposed Free Trade Agreement — held in New Delhi over four days — advancing a partnership built on ties since 1992 and deepening cooperation in trade, technology, defence, agriculture and water.
What happened
- India and Israel concluded the second round of their proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
- The four-day round was held in New Delhi (20-23 July 2026), covering all areas of the agreement.
- The Terms of Reference (signed November 2025) frame the talks toward a balanced, comprehensive FTA.
- India-Israel merchandise trade was about USD 3.93 billion in FY2025-26.
- The two established ties in 1992 and cooperate in defence, agriculture, water and tech (and I2U2).
