Bharat 6G Alliance grows to 90 members as India lays out a spectrum roadmap for 6G

The Bharat 6G Alliance — an industry-and-academia body driving India's 6G push — has grown to 90 members with seven working groups, and the government has set out a spectrum roadmap for 6G, as India aims to be a front-line 6G contributor and secure a tenth of the world's 6G patents by 2030.

What happened

The Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) — an industry-academia body — has grown to 90 members (as of 15 July 2026).
It has seven working groups covering 6G technologies, spectrum, devices, applications, green/sustainability and outreach.
The government also laid out a Spectrum Roadmap for 6G in India.
It strengthens the domestic R&D, innovation and IPR ecosystem for 6G.
It flows from the Bharat 6G Vision (2023) — a front-line 6G role by 2030 and a target of ~10% of global 6G patents.
