What happened
- The Indian Navy will host Operation Southern Readiness 26-2 at the Southern Naval Command, Kochi, from 20 to 23 July 2026.
- It is a four-day multinational maritime-security training with the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).
- It runs under the India-led Combined Task Force 154 (CTF 154), the CMF's dedicated Training Task Force.
- The CMF is a multinational partnership of over 40 nations; training spans maritime law, domain awareness, counter-narcotics, force protection and uncrewed systems.
- It reinforces India's role as a net security provider and preferred partner in the Indian Ocean Region.
