What happened
- The DRDO conducted a successful flight-test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR) at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, on 8 July 2026.
- Tested for a user-defined minimum range of 60 km, it flew all planned manoeuvres and impacted the target with textbook precision on the predicted trajectory.
- It was launched from the in-service Pinaka launcher, showing that variants of different ranges can be fired from the same launcher.
- The rocket was designed by DRDO's ARDE with HEMRL, DRDL and Research Centre Imarat.
