India convened the third preparatory meeting of the BRICS Women Track under its 2026 chairship — building toward the BRICS Women Ministerial in Kochi (6–9 July) with a digital repository of best practices and capacity-building guidelines.
What happened
- The Ministry of Women and Child Development convened the Third Preparatory Meeting of the BRICS Women Track under India's BRICS Chairship, in virtual mode.
- Chaired by WCD Secretary Anil Malik, it prepared for the BRICS Women Working Group and the BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting in Kochi, Kerala (6–9 July 2026).
- It advanced discussions on priority areas and key outcomes, including a Digital Repository of Best Practices and BRICS Women's Capacity Building Guidelines.
- BRICS member countries shared inputs, congratulated India on its chairship and appreciated progress under the Women Track.
