• The initiative aims to transform India into a global aviation hub and provide seamless international connectivity to passengers from Tier-II and Tier-III cities — so travellers can begin an international journey from their home city.
• The Hub-and-Spoke strategy targets making India the aviation hub of choice for Indian passengers by 2030 and for the world by 2047.
• Ministry studies indicate hub development could generate about 0.4 million direct and indirect jobs and add USD 30 billion to GDP by 2030, rising to roughly 16 million jobs and nearly USD 1.4 trillion by 2047.
• The Minister said the model marks a shift toward more accessible air travel and a future-ready, self-reliant Indian aviation industry, with benefits extending to trade, tourism, investment and regional development.
