AI, nuclear, space and quantum will decide future power, says minister — with quantum mission ahead of target
Dr Jitendra Singh argued that AI, nuclear, space and quantum technologies will determine future growth and global competitiveness — noting India's National Quantum Mission has already met more than half its targets within three years.

- Union MoS (I/C) for Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh said AI, Nuclear, Space and Quantum technologies will determine the contours of future growth and global competitiveness, at a Media Conclave.
- He said India's National Quantum Mission (NQM) has already achieved more than half its targeted outcomes within three years of its 2023 launch.
- He noted milestones achieved ahead of schedule in quantum-secure communication — with applications in defence, cyber security, strategic communications and protection of sensitive information — alongside progress in quantum computing and communication.
- On AI, he said it will increasingly influence governance, industry, education, healthcare, research and public-service delivery, supported by investment in digital infrastructure, computing capacity, data and reliable energy.
- He added that the opening of the space sector has unleashed a vibrant startup ecosystem, that nuclear-sector reforms will accelerate investment, and that nuclear energy will play a growing role in meeting the energy demand of data centres and digital services.
