India and Thailand hold their 10th Defence Dialogue in Bangkok

The two strategic partners reviewed military cooperation and Indo-Pacific security, agreeing to deepen collaboration in defence manufacturing, research, innovation and capability development.

What happened

• The 10th Thailand-India Defence Dialogue took place in Bangkok on 16 June 2026, reviewing the full spectrum of bilateral defence cooperation and regional and global security issues.
• It was co-chaired by Thailand's Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence Admiral Nuttapol Diewvanich and India's MoD Joint Secretary Satyajit Mohanty.
• The two sides discussed the evolving Indo-Pacific security environment and reviewed military-to-military engagements, capacity-building, training exchanges and maritime cooperation.
• They explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in defence manufacturing, research, innovation and capability development, and discussed cooperation under ASEAN-led mechanisms.
• Both reaffirmed their commitment to peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific; India and Thailand had elevated ties to a formal Strategic Partnership in 2025.
