A global online session on the Ministry of Ayush's YouTube channel drew 4,35,831 verified viewers — nearly doubling the 2024 record — as the curtain-raiser to International Day of Yoga 2026 and the 'Yoga 365' push.
What happened
- The Ministry of Ayush created a new Guinness World Record for the 'Most Viewers for a YouTube Live Yoga Stream', with 4,35,831 verified viewers joining a special global online yoga session streamed on the Ministry's official YouTube channel on 14 June 2026.
- The new record surpassed the previous benchmark of 2,46,252 viewers (set in 2024) by 1,89,579 viewers, establishing a new global record.
- The event was organised as part of the Ministry's outreach for International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 and featured the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), reinforcing the 'Yoga 365' vision of yoga as a daily practice.
- Shri Prataprao Jadhav, MoS (Independent Charge) for Ayush, said the achievement 'demonstrates the extraordinary power of Yoga to connect people across regions, cultures, and nations' and reflects yoga's growing global acceptance as a way of life.
